Children’s classes, clubs, KDAP care and holiday camps in Athens
The directory covers the Athens basin: the neighbourhoods of the City of Athens, from Kolonaki and Pangrati to Kypseli and Patisia, the northern suburbs out to Kifisia, the southern ones down to Glyfada and Voula, the western suburbs and Piraeus. The activities offered by the most places are music, ballet and taekwondo; the areas with the most places are Chalandri, Marousi and Agia Paraskevi. Greek primary schools let children out in the early afternoon; children who do not stay for the school’s all-day programme (oloimero) have the whole afternoon free, and those who stay leave in mid-afternoon. Later in the day children go to a class at a dance, music or art school, to training at a sports club or academy, or to a creative activity centre (KDAP) that takes children from any school. Over the Christmas and Easter holidays and through the long summer break, day camps keep children busy for the whole day.
